Program Overview

The Master's Program in Public Health is offered by the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Chile. This program has been in existence since 1981 and is designed for professionals working in the health and public policy sectors in Chile and Latin America.

Description

The program aims to provide a systematic and high-level education in the disciplines and contents of the field of Public Health. It seeks to equip graduates with the necessary knowledge, attitudes, and skills to incorporate into their work and community, promoting essential concepts of Public Health, social well-being, equity in access to health services, and responsible use of resources.

Objectives

• Provide a systematic and high-level education in Public Health disciplines and contents.
• Promote the development of attitudes that allow graduates to incorporate into their work and community, essential concepts of Public Health.
• Develop skills for graduates to distinguish themselves as professionals interested in collective health problems and their solutions.

Plan of Studies

The program is a face-to-face program with virtual support, lasting 4 semesters, excluding the thesis. Students have a maximum of 6 semesters to complete the program, including the development and defense of their thesis or Equivalent Formative Activity (AFE). The program is divided into two cycles: a first-year cycle and a second-year specialization cycle.

Requisitos de Admisión

• Grado de licenciado(a) or a professional title with equivalent level, content, and duration of studies to a Licenciado(a) degree at the University of Chile.
• For applicants whose native language is not Spanish, demonstrate a compatible level of oral and written Spanish.
• Declared ability to read English.

• National applicants: July 21 to September 22, 2025.
