Program Overview
Diploma in Communication and Public Policy
The Diploma in Communication and Public Policy is designed to provide students with the conceptual and practical tools necessary to effectively communicate public policies and initiatives of governments and other public and private entities.
Objective
The objective of the diploma is to equip students with the skills to face the challenges of communicating public policies and initiatives effectively.
Target Audience
The program is directed towards professionals in the social sciences and related fields who work in communication areas in the public sector.
Academic Director
The Academic Director of the program is Rodrigo Uribe, a Psychologist from PUC, with a Master's in Political Communication and a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from The University of Sheffield, UK. He is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Chile, and has extensive experience in directing projects, advising governments, and consulting for public and private companies.

The program consists of two modules:

- Introduction: Defining the scope of communication and public policy
- The context of communication and public policy
- Communication as part of the public policy cycle
- Understanding the media
- Understanding the public
- Message and narrative development
- Development of spokespersons
- Communication and Public Policy II (October to January)
- Political-communication analysis of public policies
- Developing a strategy: general strategy and narrative
- Implementing tactical aspects of communication
- Evaluating results
