Program Overview
Diploma in International Development Economics
Introduction
The Diploma in International Development Economics is a postgraduate program offered by the School of Graduate Studies at the Institute of International Studies, University of Chile. The program consists of 216 hours, divided into 72 hours of online classes and 144 hours of indirect work, equivalent to 8 credits.
Objective
The objective of this diploma is to introduce students to the main aspects and debates on development, with a focus on the international dimension and case studies. Each class will cover a different topic, approached from various disciplinary perspectives.
Target Audience
This program is designed for public officials, professionals, entrepreneurs, and the general public interested in deepening their knowledge of international development issues.
Methodology
The methodology includes lectures, examples, and in-class activities. The program will be delivered through the Zoom platform, and attendance at curricular activities is mandatory, with a minimum requirement of 75%.
Evaluation
The final evaluation consists of a questionnaire that students must answer based on the classes and complementary readings at the end of the diploma. The minimum passing grade is 4.0.

Faculty
The program features a diverse faculty with expertise in various fields related to international development, including economists, political scientists, and international relations specialists.
Dates and Schedule
The program runs from September 1 to December 3, with classes held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 18:30 hrs.
Location
The program is delivered online via Zoom.
Value
The program has a value of 20 UF (Unidad de Fomento, a Chilean monetary unit).
Convalidation
Students who meet the requirements (a minimum grade of 6.0 and 80% attendance) may be able to convalidate this diploma with some courses from the master's programs offered by the Institute, including the Master in International Development and Cooperation, Master in International Studies, Master in International Strategy and Trade Policy, and Master in Asian Studies.
