Program Overview

The Modelaci鏮 BIM de Instalaciones course is a professional development program offered by the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Chile.


Course Description

This course covers the techniques necessary for creating comprehensive models of sanitary, electrical, and air conditioning installations, including construction details and cubications. The course does not cover installation calculations.


Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:


  • Elaborate detailed BIM models of sanitary installations for potable water, sewage, and fire protection systems.
  • Elaborate detailed BIM models of low-voltage electrical installations.
  • Elaborate detailed BIM models of air conditioning installations.

Admission Requirements

  • Professional or technical title related to the construction industry.
  • Desirable work experience in construction project development.
  • Prerequisite course: Modelaci鏮 de arquitectura (BIM1001).

Course Content

  • Preparation of MEP models in Revit.
  • Modeling of sanitary installations.
  • Modeling of electrical installations.
  • Modeling of air conditioning installations.
  • Cubication of installations.
  • Documentation and details of installations.

BIM Capabilities

The course focuses primarily on themes and capabilities F (18-21) and G (22-24), according to the definition of the Matriz de Roles BIM de Planbim CORFO (version 2019).


Duration and Methodology

  • Duration: 36 hours.
  • Methodology: The course is taught in online synchronous mode, with live classes. Zoom is used as a video conferencing platform, and U-Cursos as an LMS platform for content management. Classes are theoretical and practical, based on content presentation, software tutorials, and professional application exercises.

Software and Evaluation

  • Software: Autodesk Revit.
  • Evaluation: Theoretical and/or practical evaluations are carried out based on professional application exercises. To approve the course, a average score above 4.0 (scale 1.0 to 7.0) and a minimum attendance of 75% are required.

Instructor

  • Wolfgang Schoenbeck, Architect, Universidad del Istmo de Guatemala, with a Master's degree in Architecture from Pontificia Universidad Cat鏊ica de Chile, and a Master's degree in BIM Calculation and Modeling from Zigurat Global Institute of Technology, Barcelona + Universitat de Barcelona.

Certification

Students who pass the course will receive official Autodesk certification. The University of Chile is an Authorized Training Center (ATC) for Autodesk.
