The Master's in Pharmaceutical Sciences is an evening, professional program designed to specialize, deepen, and apply advanced knowledge in pharmaceutical technology and engineering, with a strong emphasis on regulatory aspects. Objectives
The Master's in Pharmaceutical Sciences is an evening, professional program oriented toward the specialization, deepening, generation, and application of advanced knowledge in pharmaceutical technology and engineering, as well as in regulatory aspects. The program's goal is to contribute to the development of human capital in the country in pharmaceutical technology and engineering and to offer specialized training to professionals in related fields.
Development Areas
The development areas that support the program are:
- Formulation of products and process development for the Pharmaceutical Industry
- Formulation of products and process development for the Dental Industry
- Formulation of products and process development for the Veterinary Industry
- Formulation of products and process development for the Dietary Supplements Industry Each of these areas is led by core faculty members who conduct research on related topics.
Curriculum
The curriculum comprises a total of 90 credits, including the thesis or the equivalent formative activity to the thesis (AFET). Of these, 34 credits correspond to compulsory courses, including core courses, the thesis/AFET project preparation workshop, and the research unit or internship. As for elective courses, the candidate must complete a minimum of 6 credits. The thesis or equivalent formative activity (AFET) is equivalent to 50 credits.

Admission Requirements
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or an equivalent degree or title granted by national or international universities. Candidates must take a diagnostic admission exam and attend an interview. Non-Spanish-speaking students must have oral and written proficiency in Spanish. Applicants must also meet any additional requirements deemed necessary by the special committee.
Evaluation Criteria
The selection will be made by the Academic Committee based on the following criteria:
- Evaluation of academic and curricular documents.
- A personal interview in which the candidate's interests, ability to answer general questions, and motivation for the program will be analyzed.
- Any other instrument deemed relevant by the Academic Committee or the Graduate School.

Fees
- Annual Registration: CLP 185,300
- Annual Tuition: CLP 5,515,250
- Discounts: Up to 100% For international students, fees will be charged in U.S. dollars (USD) based on the official exchange rate of the day, where applicable.
Scholarships and Funding
Students can apply for the following scholarships:
- ANID Scholarship
- Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences Scholarship
- Fee Reduction: Students may apply for a fee reduction based on a socioeconomic evaluation conducted by the Social Worker. International students can also apply for doctoral funding scholarships in Chile through institutions in their home countries. Students may apply for all scholarships, but they cannot be combined. Scholarships are renewed annually.
