Introduction to the Diploma Program

The Diploma in Philosophy and Childhood is a program that offers a critical perspective on the notions and imaginaries of childhood, relegating them to territories of tutelage and passivity in the construction of society. This program connects with theoretical trends in philosophy and social sciences that understand the agency of all subjects, regardless of age, contributing to the generation of culture and ideas about society.

Objective

The objective of this program is to provide elements of philosophical, historical, cultural, and theoretical-practical analysis to critically interrogate the discourses and practices present in various areas of society that work with childhood.

Plan of Studies

The plan of studies includes the following dimensions:

• Imaginaries of Childhood: This dimension discusses the social representations of childhood, constructed from social and philosophical discourses that have founded the historical, political, and identity categories associated with notions of childhood.
• Corporality, Arts, and Philosophy: This dimension promotes a process of critical reflection on the body-thought relationship, encouraging creative expression through improvisation and contributing to the generation of a community of inquiry.
• Didactics of Philosophy and Childhood: This dimension offers theoretical and practical elements regarding the pedagogical guidelines of Philosophy with children, allowing participants to know and question the tradition of the original program by Matthew Lipman.

Methodology

The methodology includes monitored readings, group research, and exposure to the course, workshop sessions of "community of inquiry," presentations, and development of pedagogical intervention projects.

Evaluation

The evaluation requirements include:

• Cumplir con el 75% de asistencia (jornada presencial OBLIGATORIA)

• Bitácora
• Planificación de sesión de Filosofía con nińas/os

Duration and Requirements

The program duration is 83 hours, from April to November 2025. The requirements for approval include a minimum attendance of 75% and completion of the program's evaluation plan.

Teaching Team

The teaching team is multidisciplinary, with expertise in philosophy, performing arts, education, and the focus on Children's Rights, as well as experience in teaching and academic capacities.
