The Curso de especialización en Dirección y Gestión de Proyectos de Construcción (Infraestructura y Minería) is a specialized course offered by the Department of Ingeniería Civil at the Universidad de Chile. This program is designed for professionals in the construction industry, including engineers, constructors, and project managers, who wish to develop their skills in project management, direction, and administration.

Objectives

The main objective of this program is to identify, understand, and develop the necessary competencies to participate, collaborate, and direct the main processes involved in the construction phase of infrastructure, mining, and energy projects. The program aims to provide a process-oriented and industrialized construction approach to improve productivity and quality in the construction industry.

Specific Objectives

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:

• Understand the functioning of the construction industry, its key players, and applicable management indicators.
• Understand and apply key management processes for construction planning, including scheduling, budgeting, quality, and risk management.
• Understand and apply key processes for preparing and administering construction contracts and services.

Plan of Studies

The program consists of 40 hours of lectures, divided into 10 classes, and structured into four thematic modules:

• Module 1: Introduction to the construction industry
• Module 2: Scheduling and budgeting
• Module 3: Contract preparation and administration
• Module 4: Risk management and quality control The program also includes a final class on presenting projects and best practices.

Target Audience

This program is directed at engineers, constructors, and professionals in the construction industry who wish to develop their skills in project management, direction, and administration. The program is particularly suited for those who want to prepare themselves or improve their competencies for administrative, management, and direction functions in construction companies, engineering firms, and client organizations in both the public and private sectors.

Evaluation and Approval

To approve the program, participants must:

• Attend at least 75% of the classes
• Achieve a final grade above 4.0 (on a scale of 1.0 to 7.0)
• Complete all module assignments and participate in class discussions Upon approval, participants will receive a digital certificate of approval and a certificate of grades.

Admission Requirements

To apply for the program, candidates must:

• Submit a photo of their identity card, passport, or driver's license
• Provide a certificate of their relevant professional title
• Include a curriculum vitae with relevant professional experience (minimum 1 year)

Tuition Fees

The program costs 30 UF (approximately USD 1,190). A 30% discount is available for early registration, up to two weeks before the start of classes. Payment can be made by transfer, credit card, or WebPay.

Additional Information

The program will be conducted online, with synchronous classes on Fridays from 17:00 to 21:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to 13:00. Optional consultation sessions will be held on Wednesdays at 19:30. The program requires a minimum of 10 students to proceed.
