Introduction to the Escuela de Etapa B·sica
The Escuela de Etapa B·sica is an academic program offered by the Facultad de Artes at the Universidad de Chile. The Escuela de Etapa B·sica serves as a preparatory phase for students intending to enroll in the Licenciatura con menciÛn en InterpretaciÛn Musical. The program currently offers two modalities:
Etapa B·sica Inicial
This modality is intended for students who have not yet obtained their Licencia de EnseÒanza Media or those who, despite having the license, require leveling in specific areas. These areas include:
- The first year of Canto, which has an extended hourly schedule and thus requires full-time availability.
- The first or second year of instruments with a 4-year duration, such as PercusiÛn, Vientos, and Contrabajo.
- The first, second, or third year of Guitarra, which has a 5-year duration.
- The first, second, third, or fourth year of Arpa, with a 6-year duration.
- The first, second, third, fourth, or fifth year of instruments with a 7-year duration, including Cuerdas Frotadas and ”rgano.
- The first, second, third, fourth, fifth, or sixth year of Piano, which has an 8-year duration.
Etapa B·sica de Pregrado
This modality is designed for students who have already obtained their Licencia de EnseÒanza Media and are placed in the last or second-to-last year of their respective program.
