Program Overview
Program Description
The Dento Maxilo Facial Orthodontics and Orthopedics Program is a professional specialization program offered by the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Chile. The program has a duration of 6 semesters, equivalent to 153 credits, and is developed in the facilities of the Faculty of Dentistry.
Program Objectives
The program aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to specialize in Orthodontics and Dento-Maxillofacial Orthopedics.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Application is issued every two years
- Available spaces: 15
- 13 Self-Financed Students
- 2 EDF Students, scholarships from the Ministry of Health (MINSAL)
- Start of Classes: March 2027
Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Written test of knowledge (Theoretical)
- English test
- Wire Test (Practical) The weighting of these stages is as follows:
- Curricular background: 60%
- Admission Exam: 40%
- Theoretical: 50%
- Practical: 25%
- English: 25%
Tuition Fees
The annual fee for the program is 469.66 UF, with a total program cost of 1,409 UF. A 10% discount is available for all Alumni of the U. of Chile.

- Pre-Clinical Orthodontics and Dento-Maxillary Orthopedics Program
- Fundamentals of Orthodontic and Orthopedic Dentomaxillary Therapies
- Orthodontics and Dento-Maxillary Orthopedics Clinic
- Interdisciplinary Clinic
###Schedule The program schedule is as follows:
- Theoretical Activities: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 08:00 to 13:00 hrs
- Clinical Activities: Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate from the program, students must:
- Approve all Program credits
- Carry out a thesis work
- Take a final clinical-theoretical exam to graduate from the Program
