Program Description

The University of Chile offers a Professional Specialist in Oral Rehabilitation program, which is a 2-year, 4-semester course with a part-time schedule of 25 hours per week. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of oral rehabilitation, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical practice.

Profile of the Graduate

The graduate of this program will be a specialist with an integral approach to the patient from a bio-psycho-social perspective, with solid theoretical and clinical foundations, high analytical capacity, and adherence to the ethical, moral, and social responsibility principles that govern the University of Chile. The graduate's primary purpose is to resolve problems of varying complexity in adult patients with complete or partial dentures, emphasizing the application of cutting-edge knowledge in clinical oral rehabilitation activity.

Objectives of the Program

1. Rehabilitate patients with complete or partial dentures, with functional and aesthetic alterations of the gnathic system, with different levels of complexity.
2. Be able to interact with different dental specialties involved in integral oral rehabilitation.

Curriculum

The program consists of 2,781 hours, distributed over 103 credits, and includes the following thematic units:

• Unidad I: Diagnosis and therapeutic planning in Oral Rehabilitation
• Unidad II: Integral Oral Rehabilitation associated with the restoration of lost oral tissues
• Unidad III: Integral Oral Rehabilitation associated with the replacement of lost teeth through dentally or implant-supported treatment
• Unidad IV: Integral Oral Rehabilitation associated with the control and follow-up of oral rehabilitation treatment and administration in dental health
• Clínica Rehabilitación Oral
• Cursos Electivos

Schedule

• 25 hours per week, in a 5-hour daily schedule from Monday to Friday, to be fixed at the beginning of each year
