Diploma of Professional and Labor Development in Economic and Social History of Republican Chile

Presentation

The program aims to deepen the understanding of national historical processes from the perspective of Economic and Social History, with an emphasis on the impact on the well-being and inequality of the population. This is achieved by examining the models of growth implemented in Chile, considering their results in relation to the Latin American region and developed countries, especially their effects on the living conditions and social cohesion of the majority of the population.

Profile of Graduates

Graduates of the program will have the initial training to comprehend the economic trajectory of Chile since its independence, through a permanent comparison with countries in the region and successful references, as well as from a vision centered on people and their final well-being.

Academic Dedication

The program requires 5 transferable credits and 45 direct chronological hours.

Requirements

Applicants must have completed at least two semesters of a professional career or a bachelor's, licentiate, or postgraduate program.

Application Period

The application period is from November 2025 to March 2026.

Tuition Fee Discounts

• 20% discount for payment made until January 31, 2026
• 20% discount for students with a grade point average of 5.0 or higher at the time of application
• 20% discount for academics, collaboration personnel, and graduates of the University of Chile
• 20% discount for public officials
• 20% discount for women and 25% for individuals registered in the National Registry of Indigenous Peoples

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee for the program is $1,244,000.

Program Organization

The program is organized by the Department of Historical Sciences and is directed at individuals interested in applying knowledge and competencies related to economic formation at secondary and tertiary education levels, as well as in disciplinary activities associated with it.

Duration and Schedule

The program takes place from March 14, 2026, to August 25, 2026, on Saturdays at 10:00 hrs, in a hybrid format at a distance.
