Project Management College of Scheduling Body of Knowledge
The Project Management College of Scheduling (PMCOS) Body of Knowledge (BOK) is a self-paced course with a project-based approach, designed to introduce the concepts of planning, scheduling, and project controls to entry-level professionals. The PMCOS is a dynamic organization of professionals dedicated to advancing the practice and profession of project planning and scheduling and promoting accurate, ethical schedules worldwide. This BOK makes use of existing literature and avoids replicating what is already available in the public domain or behind paywalls.
Course Description
The course contains 7 Milestones with engaging activities, a quiz in Milestone 4, and a quiz in Milestone 7. Completing all activities and passing the Milestone 7 quiz with a score of 80% or greater earns a certificate of completion and a digital badge.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, the participant will have acquired and applied the basic skills and knowledge to:
- Develop a plan for the construction of a simple project.
- Develop a schedule for the construction of the single-span bridge.
- Monitor the progress of the single-span bridge by comparing the as-built schedule against the as-planned schedule.
- Apply a Schedule Delay Analysis methodology, like the Time Impact Analysis (TIA), to a schedule delay analysis scenario.

- Project Planning
- Baseline Schedule
- Interim Update
- Prospective Change Order
- Recovery Schedule
- Final As-built Schedule
Course Requirements
This course utilizes existing literature available in the public domain or behind paywalls to support its single-span bridge project. To demonstrate understanding of the core instructional material, participants will complete step-by-step activities in each milestone and pass two quizzes with a score of 80% or better. All seven milestones must be completed.
Technical Requirements
To participate fully in this course, you will need:
- An active email address for the individual participating in the course.
- A desktop computer or laptop (recommended):
- Access to a high-speed internet connection.
- A web browser compatible with Canvas: Chrome and Firefox are recommended.
- Headphones or speakers (closed captioning also available).
- Computer skills including Internet browsing, using email, typing, downloading files, and basic troubleshooting.
Course Notice
Non-credit courses do not post to the Clemson University transcript and do not count toward a student's academic record. Neither grade nor credit is earned.
