Introduction to the Graduate Program in Theatre
The Graduate Program in Theatre at York University is an intensive, two-year (five-semester) conservatory program designed for serious, advanced theatre artists. The program aims to further hone the skills of its students, enabling them to enter or re-enter the profession and acquire the knowledge and skills needed to teach at the post-secondary level.
Program Overview
The MFA in Theatre offers small class sizes led by faculty who are experts in the field. However, it is noted that the international student acceptance rate is extremely low, and the program may not accept international MA applications every academic year.
Admission Cycle
The program is not currently accepting applications for the upcoming year, as admissions do not take place every year. Prospective students are advised to check back for details on the next admission cycle, which has not yet been announced.
Application Period
The program is on pause for the academic year. International applicants are informed that there are currently no funded positions available. Should they still wish to apply, they will be considered for a non-funded position during the duration of the program.
