Introduction to the Instructional Skills Workshop

The Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) is an internationally recognized certificate program that originated in Canada via the Instructional Skills Workshop Network. This program is designed to further develop participants' teaching effectiveness.

Program Overview

The ISW is an intensive, 3-day workshop where participants work collaboratively in a small group setting. The primary focus of the workshop is to design and lead three 10-minute lessons, following which participants receive reflective verbal, written, and video feedback from the other participants who have been learners.

Program Schedule

The ISW is offered in July, August, and December every year.

Program Details

• The workshop is intensive and lasts for 3 days.
  • Participants work in small groups.
  • Each participant designs and leads three 10-minute lessons.
• Feedback is provided after each lesson, which includes:
  • Verbal feedback.
  • Written feedback.
  • Video feedback.
• The feedback is given by the other participants who have been learners in the lessons designed and led by their peers.
