Art (BA) Immersive Experience Design Track
Program Overview
The Art B.A. track in Immersive Experience Design prepares students to work as studio art, design, and emerging media practitioners in the creative workforce, as well as prepare for graduate-level study. The diverse curriculum explores historical and contemporary themed environments, immersive storytelling, graphic wayfinding, streetscape design, public sculpture, furniture and product design, and more.
Program Details
- The program is offered by the College of Arts and Humanities, Department of Visual Arts & Design.
- In-state tuition: $212.28 per credit hour.
- Out-of-state tuition: $802.54 per credit hour.
Admission Requirements
- All students in this program must satisfactorily complete the mandatory Studio Art Portfolio Review before enrolling in portfolio-restricted Studio Art courses.
- Students who do not pass the Studio Art Portfolio review should meet with a CAHSA Coach to discuss their options.
- Note: One-on-one portfolio reviews are not possible due to the large number of portfolios received.
Degree Requirements
- Students who change degree programs and select this major must adopt the most current catalog.
- Departmental Residency Requirement consists of at least 18 semester hours of regularly scheduled 3000-4000 level courses taken from the School of Visual Arts and Design.
- Students must earn a grade of "C" or better in each course used to satisfy major requirements.
- Co-op credit cannot be used in the major.
- Students should consult with CAHSA each semester.

Foreign Language Requirements

- Proficiency equivalent to one year of college instruction in a single foreign language taught by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures or the Department of History (Hebrew). Standardized examinations for foreign languages may be used to meet the requirement.

- 42 semester hours of upper division credit completed
- 30 of the last 39 hours of course work must be completed in residency at UCF.
- A maximum of 45 hours of extension, correspondence, CLEP, Credit by Exam, and Armed Forces credits permitted.
- Complete the General Education Program, the State Writing and Math Requirement, and nine hours of Summer credit.
