Service-Learning Undergraduate Certificate

Program at a Glance

The Service-Learning Undergraduate Certificate is designed for students in any discipline who seek to engage in a reflective analysis of community service as it relates to academic coursework. This certificate comprises four UCF-approved service-learning courses, all of which require students to explore the intersectionality of academic skills, civic responsibility, and career opportunities.


Program Details

The certificate program is open to all undergraduate and graduate students in any major. It is designed to further the learning objectives of academic courses, address community needs, and require students to reflect on their activity to gain an appreciation for the relationship between civics and academics.

  • None

Degree Requirements

  • Earn at least 12 credits from the following types of courses: Students may choose any four of the UCF-approved service-learning courses in any discipline to satisfy the credit hour requirements.
    • Service-Learning courses are designated with an "SL" and can be accessed under "special groups" in the class schedule.
  • Grand Total Credits: 12

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 in UCF-approved SL classes.
  • Minimum of 60 community service hours in four (4) UCF-approved SL classes.
  • Foreign Language Requirements: None
  • Total Semester Hours Required: 12
