Inclusive Education Services
The Inclusive Education Services (IES) program at the Toni Jennings Exceptional Education Institute provides adults with intellectual disabilities with a professional services credential while they are immersed on the University of Central Florida (UCF) campus. During the two-year experience, students develop their passions and strengths, enhancing their ability to facilitate long-term paid employment after graduation.
Program Overview
The IES program delivers an innovative and distinctive collegiate experience. Students live on campus, engaging with other UCF students, faculty, and staff. They participate in sporting events, student organizations, and community events. In addition, they learn employment skills and complete internships with community businesses. IES is an integral part of the College of Community Innovation and Education.
Plan of Study
The Inclusive Education Services program is a national and state-recognized certified transition program with a focus on post-graduation employment and independence. During the program, students complete academic courses from one of three concentrations:
- Social Services
- (Additional concentrations are available but not specified)
Program Experience
The program provides an inclusive, comprehensive, non-degree-seeking college experience to adults with intellectual disabilities. During the two-year experience, students discover and develop their passions and strengths, enhancing their ability to facilitate long-term paid employment after graduation. Students are immersed in the UCF campus life, participating in various activities and events, and engaging with the university community.
