Program Overview
General Education Program Update
The General Education Program (GEP) at the University of Central Florida is undergoing updates and assessments. The GEP assessment process is ongoing, with faculty members teaching GEP courses required to include an assignment that measures at least one of the foundation's learning outcomes.
GEP Assessment Updates
The GEP assessment deadline is the withdrawal deadline, which is Friday, March 28 at 11:59 p.m. Faculty members can complete the assessment anytime before this date. The assessment can take the format that best suits the class, and faculty members who conducted an assessment last term can use the same assessment if they have copied their course to this term.
Certificate of GEP Engagement
A new Certificate of GEP Engagement is available for faculty members and graduate students who have demonstrated their commitment to general education and student success. To be eligible, applicants must have taught at least one GEP course in Summer and Fall 2024, be teaching in Spring 2025, and have attended a minimum of three GEP-sponsored events during the same period.
Spring Fling Academic Showcase
The GEP Team invites faculty members to contribute photos and course assignments that showcase the dynamic learning experiences they create for students. The showcase will be held on March 5, and faculty members can submit photos, sample assignments, and a brief description providing context for their materials.

Several GEP events are scheduled for Spring 2025, including:
