Annual Technician Course at the Wilmer Eye Institute

The Wilmer Eye Institute's 27th Annual Technician Course will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Owens Auditorium in the Cancer Research Building of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Medical Campus.

Program Agenda

The program is informal and collegial, with speakers aiming for open, interactive communication with the audience. Participants can choose to attend either in-person or virtually. The in-person location is the Owens Auditorium, while virtual participants will receive a separate email with a Zoom link closer to the event date.

• Topics include most ophthalmic specialties, all aimed at ophthalmic technicians.

  • 9:35 – 10:05: The Ocular Angle Structure
  • 10:05 – 10:20: Break
  • 10:20 – 11:20: Evaluation and Disorders of the Pupils
  • 11:20 – 11:50: What's Behind the Curtain - Vitreous/Retinal Detachment
  • 11:50 – 12:50: Lunch
  • 12:50 – 1:35: Droopy Eyelid, What's the Difference?
  • 1:35 – 2:35: Not Enough Tears to Cry - Are My Eyes Dry?
  • 2:35 – 2:45: Break
  • 2:45 – 3:45: Understanding Strabismus & Amblyopia in Children
  • 3:45 – 4:00: Collect Evaluations; CEC Paperwork Awarded
