Improving Teaching

The IEE offers several programs to improve teaching, including:

• IEE Teaching Camp
• Foundations of Teaching and Learning Course
• Improve Your Teaching Website

IEE Teaching Camp

The IEE Teaching Camp is a professional development opportunity for educators. The camp is divided into two one-day standalone days, one in the summer and one in the winter.

• Winter Teaching Camp: January 23, 2026 (All Virtual)
  • Schedule for the day:
    • 9:00 - 9:15am: Welcome and Goals for Camp
    • 9:15 - 12:00pm: Morning Workshops (choose only one)
      • Workshop 1: Adaptive Expertise
      • Workshop 2: Narrative Writing for Professional Identity Formation
    • 12:00 - 1:00pm: Lunch or optional Team Building for Psychological Safety
    • 1:00 - 4:30pm: Afternoon Workshop: Supportive Learning Environment and Feedback
• Summer Teaching Camp: July 31, 2026 (In-Person)
  • Schedule for the day:
    • 8:00 - 8:15am: Welcome and Goals for Camp
    • 8:15 - 12:00pm: Foundations of Teaching and Learning
    • 12:00 - 1:30pm: Lunch and Medical Education Jeopardy
    • 1:30 - 3:30pm: Two Afternoon Workshops (choose one only)
    • 3:30 - 4:30pm: PowerPoint Karaoke
• Teaching Camp Fees:
  • Morning Session: $450
  • Afternoon Session: $450
  • Full Day: $900
• Full- and Part-Time Faculty, Student and Trainee participation in all aspects of the program is encouraged.
• Hopkins Students, Residents, Clinical and Post Doc Fellows ONLY: Fee waived
