Therasuit Intensive Therapy Program
Program Overview
Introduction to the Therasuit Method Intensive Program
The Therasuit method intensive program (TMIP) is an intensive individualized therapy program designed to accelerate functional progress in children. This program utilizes the Therasuit, a soft canvas suit with bungee-like cords attached, and the Universal Exercise Cage, also known as the Spider Cage. The equipment helps children learn new and correct patterns of movement through strengthening and functional skills practice.
Goals of the Therasuit Program
The Therasuit program aims to help children achieve several key goals, including:
- Improve independence with daily activities like self-care, feeding, and dressing
- Improve body awareness

What to Expect
During the program, children may initially show resistance, such as crying or fussing. The therapists monitor the child's response and adjust the program's progression accordingly. Sometimes, it may be necessary for parents to leave the room for a period to help the child work through this stage. For the first two weeks, parents are not expected to attend the whole session each day with their child. However, during the last week of the program, parents are required to be available to attend each of the final five sessions, during which the child's therapist will review the tailored home program with them.
