Program Overview
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation program at Johns Hopkins Medicine is a comprehensive education series created and presented by the Johns Hopkins Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency faculty. The series focuses on current concepts and evidence-informed approaches to providing optimal care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
Series Overview
The series includes four modules presented in person once a month over three days. Participants can choose to take any number of modules or register for the entire series and receive a significant discount.

Module 1: Application of Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Musculoskeletal Conditions affecting the Lumbar Spine and Pelvis
This module will focus on the examination and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in the lumbopelvic region. Based on the Low Back Pain Clinical Practice Guidelines, we will explore examination and treatment techniques for each low back pain classification.

Module 2: Application of Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Musculoskeletal Conditions affecting the Cervical and Thoracic Spines
This module will focus on the examination and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in the cervical and thoracic spine regions. Based on the Neck Pain Clinical Practice Guidelines, we will utilize the ICF Model to examine, diagnose and provide treatment for patients with cervicothoracic pain.

This module will be a combination of lectures and labs presenting current evidence-based practice for rehabilitation of the lower extremity and associated common musculoskeletal conditions of the hip, knee, ankle and foot.
