Limb Preservation and Wound Care Fellowship

The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a world-class clinical institution with a diverse national and international patient population in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland. The Limb Preservation and Wound Care Fellow will receive unequaled, fully integrated, multidisciplinary training to competently provide wound evaluation, surgical techniques employing evidenced-based wound salvage paradigms and complex wound reconstruction.

Our proven limb preservation pathways incorporate a variety of wound modalities coupled with our technologically savvy Noraxon Computer-Assisted Gait Analysis (CAGA), providing patients with the greatest opportunity for continued limb preservation and remaining in remission and ulcer-free. This service is second to none nationwide.

A Letter From Our Program Director

Welcome to the Johns Hopkins Hospital Limb Preservation and Wound Care Fellowship. We sponsor a fully accredited ACGME-equivalent program. This fellowship is for candidates who have completed their ACGME residency or podiatric training. Each year, we accept a single fellow for a 12-month educational experience with the goal of training leaders in the field of limb preservation and wound care.

Program Details

The fellowship is a 12-month educational experience enabling the fellow to contribute their training to this vulnerable diabetic/vascular patient population to maintain their ambulation and hence their longevity to lead productive lives. Through the national leadership involvement of our entire faculty, fellows are positioned for pinnacle positions in limb preservation and wound care success when they graduate.


Admission Criteria

One fellow will be chosen per year for the program after a competitive review process. Virtual interviews will be held no later than December 2024. Applicants will also be invited to interview on a rolling basis.

The Limb Preservation and Wound Care Fellowship provides a comprehensive curriculum that includes:
