Elementary Education (M.A.T.) Overview

The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) with a major in Elementary Education is designed to prepare students for teaching positions in elementary education. The program is designed for students who have a bachelor's degree in a field other than education and are seeking initial teacher certification.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the program, students must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Passing scores on the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC)
• Completion of a criminal background check
