Introduction to Physical Therapy
Physical therapy (PT) is a vital health discipline in the continuum of care and one of the fastest-growing health professions. The rising number of aging baby boomers staying active later in life and people with mobility issues stemming from diabetes, obesity, and other chronic conditions fuel demand for more physical therapists in a variety of healthcare settings.

The FIU Physical Therapy department is meeting this demand through its Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. Our student-centered program prepares an ethnically, racially, and culturally diverse group of people to become caring and competent physical therapists.
