Overview

The General Contractor Exam Review course is designed to help individuals become state-certified general contractors in Florida. This comprehensive review and preparation course covers the Business and Finance Exam and the Contract Administration and Project Management Exam. Students will learn how to review, tab, and highlight reference books and codes, as well as exam-taking strategies, skills, and techniques.


Program Details

  • The course takes place over two weeks, with three classes offered each week, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • The class is taught live in-person but can also be joined online.
  • The program includes one year of access to a two-hour online Q&A webinar with instructors every week.
  • Topics addressed in the course include:
    • Business/Finance and Construction Math Problem Solving
    • Fundamentals of Accounting for Construction
    • Basics of Plan Reading / Quantity estimating and Costing
    • Understanding of contract change orders and purchase orders
    • Means and methods of Construction and critical code review
    • OSHA basics
    • Basic Project Scheduling techniques

Studying in Florida I went here for my undergrad back several years ago and came back for my graduates. This university is a blast of culture and learning. Most of the professors are amazing, there's clubs for everything, classes that range from odd to amazing and everything in between. They keep adding to MMC making new buildings, bringing in new vendors, and creating new art.

It's an awesome campus. Everyone is nice and helpful. It's not loud. The students are very chill. There are students of all ages and backgrounds, from the 20s to 30s to the 40s to the 50s...you get the jist. Anyway, there are many international students as well. I like that everything is there for the students. All kinds of activities, restaurants and more importantly help. There is help for anything and everything they need. They have free private counseling for anyone that needs it. They make sure that each student takes a mandatory training session on identifying someone in need or danger. They are big on safety for sure. It's a good place. It's expensive but think about all they offer. My fave part, the have some of the best professors. I'm in Creative Writing and many of my professors are Published Authors!
