Program Overview

First-Year Orientation

Orientation is a fun and educational program critical to your success as a new first-year student. You can expect to:


  • Learn about academic policies and requirements
  • Get familiar with campus buildings and landmarks
  • Hear about resources and involvement opportunities
  • Make connections with other new students
  • Receive information on academics and get prepared for your advising and class registration day
  • Learn about how to register for your first semester of classes

Orientation is mandatory for all undergraduate first-year students.


First-Year Orientation Dates

  • Early Fall 2026 Admitted Students (Summer B - Classes start June 22): The available dates for your Orientation are still pending. Details and dates for your term will be available for sign up in February 2026.
  • Fall 2026 Admitted Students (Classes start August 24): The available dates for your Orientation are still pending. Details and dates for your term will be available for sign up in February 2026.
  • Spring 2027 Admitted Students (Classes start January 11): The available dates for your Orientation are still pending. Details and dates for your term will be available for sign up in September 2026.

Completing Orientation

  1. Virtual Orientation: 24 hours after you've paid your $200 tuition deposit or have had it waived, log into your account and click the Orientation tile.
  2. On-Campus Orientation Registration: Students in standard degree programs will sign up for an on-campus orientation date via their account.
  3. Fully Online Students: Students in fully online degree programs are not required to register for an in-person orientation.

Orientation Program Charges

All outstanding orientation charges must be paid in full before attending your scheduled session.


Request Accommodations

Should you need an ADA accommodation to participate in this event, or any future event, please contact the Office of Civil Rights Compliance and Accessibility (CRCA) at least two weeks prior to the event or at the earliest possible opportunity.

Studying in Florida I went here for my undergrad back several years ago and came back for my graduates. This university is a blast of culture and learning. Most of the professors are amazing, there's clubs for everything, classes that range from odd to amazing and everything in between. They keep adding to MMC making new buildings, bringing in new vendors, and creating new art.

It's an awesome campus. Everyone is nice and helpful. It's not loud. The students are very chill. There are students of all ages and backgrounds, from the 20s to 30s to the 40s to the 50s...you get the jist. Anyway, there are many international students as well. I like that everything is there for the students. All kinds of activities, restaurants and more importantly help. There is help for anything and everything they need. They have free private counseling for anyone that needs it. They make sure that each student takes a mandatory training session on identifying someone in need or danger. They are big on safety for sure. It's a good place. It's expensive but think about all they offer. My fave part, the have some of the best professors. I'm in Creative Writing and many of my professors are Published Authors!
