Program Overview


Introduction to the Traditional BSN Program

The Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Florida International University is a limited-access program with a competitive admissions process based on comprehensive evaluations.


Admissions

Each FIU Undergraduate Nursing program has its own admission requirements and application process. Applications are processed and reviewed on a continual basis to admit students for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Similar courses can be considered for equivalency through review by NWCNHS Student Services. Science prerequisites must have been taken within the last 10 years and they must be finished by the time the application is submitted.

Admission Requirements

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree from a Florida state college - OR - Completion of FIU's University Core Curriculum (UCC) (AKA: general education requirements), including Gordon Rule and foreign language requirements.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.25 GPA for all coursework.
  • Completion of ALL required prerequisite courses by the end of the Spring semester to be eligible for admission for the Fall.
  • Successful completion of the 'In-Person' ATI TEAS (Edition VII) nursing entrance exam with a minimum 70% Total Score AND a minimum 62% Science Score.
  • Applicants must complete a separate NursingCAS application for the Traditional BSN Track.
  • Meet all FIU Admissions Standards requirements to Apply to FIU.

Transfer and international students must meet all FIU Admissions Standards and additional university requirements before proceeding with an application.

Students must meet all immunization requirements implemented by our clinical affiliates in order to matriculate at NWCNHS. NWCNHS cannot accept immunization waivers or exemptions that conflict with our clinical affiliate's immunization policies.
