Admission to the Bachelor's Programme in Economics, Bachelor and Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration (3 + 2 years)

The application period for Aalto Bachelor's Programme in Economics (taught in English) is from 7 to 22 January 2026. Studies start in August-September 2026. Applicants are selected to complete the degrees Bachelor and Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration. Admission is based on either SAT/ACT test results or grades obtained in Finnish Matriculation Examination, IB, EB or RP/DIA degree.

The application period starts on 7 January 2026 at 8am/8.00 (UTC+2) and ends on 22 January 2026 at 3pm/15.00 (UTC+2).

The intake for the Bachelor's Programme in Economics is as follows:


  • Admission Group I: 12
  • Admission Group II: 2
  • Admission Group III: 36
  • Total: 50

How to Apply?

Admission to Aalto Bachelor's Programme in Economics is organised through Aalto University's application to English-taught bachelor's programmes. The application period for studies starting in August-September 2026 is from 7 to 22 January 2026.


Admission Process

Admission to the Bachelor's Programme in Economics is based on either the SAT or the ACT test results, or the grades obtained in the Finnish Matriculation Examination, IB, EB or DIA/RP diplomas. There are three admission groups:


  • Admission Group I: Admission is based on the SAT or the ACT test results. Only applicants who fulfill the general eligibility requirements for higher education, but have not completed or will not complete in spring 2026 the Finnish matriculation examination, IB, EB or DIA/RP diploma, can be selected in this admission group.
  • Admission Group II: Admission is based on the SAT or the ACT test results. Only applicants who have completed or will complete in spring 2026 the Finnish matriculation examination, IB, EB or DIA/RP diploma can be selected in this admission group.
  • Admission Group III: Admission is based on the grades obtained in the Finnish Matriculation Examination, IB, EB or DIA/RP diplomas.

Required Application Documents

Attach to your Studyinfo application form the following documents:


  1. Academic documents proving eligibility for higher education (with translations, if required)
  2. If applying on the basis of the SAT or ACT test results: the SAT or ACT test result report. In addition, the official test results must arrive to Aalto University directly from the test organiser.
  3. Passport or other ID (with translations, if required)
  4. Residence permit card (if applicable)

Language Requirements

The language of instruction in the Bachelor's Programme in Economics is English, so all students are expected to have sufficient language skills to be able to study in English. You are not required to submit a language test result.


Tuition Fees and Scholarships

Tuition fees are collected from students who are not citizens of the member states of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), or Switzerland. Tuition fees apply to degree programmes taught in English. The tuition fee for the Bachelor's Programme in Economics is 12 000€ per academic year.


Admission Results

The admission results for Admission Groups I and II (SAT and ACT-based selection) are published in the Studyinfo service by 26 March 2026. The admission results for Admission Group III (certificate-based selection) are published in the Studyinfo service by 27 May 2026.
