Program Description

The Aalto Bachelor's Programme in Science and Technology major in Computer Engineering combines areas of computer science and electrical engineering. Students gain a solid foundation in physics, programming, and electrical engineering, as well as a basic understanding of computer science, covering both hardware and software. The program prepares students to innovate and design technical solutions that combine hardware and low-level programming, and to envision future technical implementations.

Program Structure

The bachelor's degree (180 credits) consists of basic studies in the program (65 credits, mathematics, programming, production economics, compulsory languages, Aalto studies, introduction), major studies (65 credits, including computer architecture, signal processing, bachelor's thesis, and seminar), minor studies (20-25 credits), and elective studies (25-30 credits).

The major in Computer Engineering is the student's major in the Bachelor's degree. With Aalto University's wide range of minor studies and elective courses, students can also tailor their study orientation and build more competence and experience in areas they are most passionate about.
