Program Description
The Contemporary Design (CoDe) major focuses on materials and studio work, considering real-life needs. Students in this major critically examine and reflect on the relationship between humans and materials, exploring topics from practical manufacturing to biosynthesis and digital manufacturing. The program supports process-oriented research and studio work, combining research and writing as part of coursework.

Program Structure
The Master's Program in Design, Contemporary Design major, consists of 120 ECTS credits. Students complete compulsory studies in their major, participate in joint studies of the School of Arts, Design and Architecture, and write a master's thesis (30 ECTS credits). They also take elective studies according to their personal study plan.
Specializations
The program offers specializations in various materials, such as ceramics, glass, biomaterials, or wood, and students develop their expertise in these areas.

Applicants are evaluated based on their artistic and/or design-related activities, previous studies, motivation, and language skills. The admission process involves two phases:
