Introduction to Health Technology Engineering
The Health Technology Engineering program is a Master's program in Electrical Engineering designed for ambitious STEM students interested in solving fundamental and practical technical problems in the growing field of medical technology. As a graduate of this program, you will be able to design, develop, and apply innovative, safe, and sustainable medical technology solutions. Program Description
The program focuses on the application of engineering principles to healthcare, enabling you to develop innovative medical technology products and solutions. You will learn to process and analyze sensor data generated by medical devices, create models and simulations of healthcare equipment, and apply engineering principles to healthcare. Additionally, you will identify relevant regulations and standards for specific medical devices and healthcare systems, assess ethical and social issues related to medical technology, and discuss technical limitations and opportunities with relevant stakeholders in clinical settings.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the program, you must have a relevant Bachelor's degree in a field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field. Excellent applicants with a degree in other fields, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or Mathematics, will be considered if they have sufficient studies in electronics, robotics, signal processing, control systems, or physics.
Tuition Fees and Scholarships
The tuition fee for this program is 17,000 euros per academic year. Aalto University offers a limited number of scholarships to students who are required to pay tuition fees. These scholarships can be awarded to the best applicants based on the admission criteria.
Program Structure
The program consists of 120 credits, including:
- 65 credits of major studies
- 25 credits of elective studies
- 30 credits of Master's thesis
Specialization Options
You will choose between two specialization options:
- Health Instrumentation and Wearables
- Health Robotics and Signal Processing
