Finnish 8 Course Description

The Finnish 8 course is designed to improve students' language skills in Finnish, with a focus on reading, writing, and conversation. The course covers various topics, including news, life events, geography, economy, and more.

Course Objectives

Upon completing the course, students will be able to:

• Understand and use complex sentence structures and vocabulary
• Read and comprehend different types of texts, including news articles and literary works
• Write coherent and well-structured texts on various topics

Course Content

The course includes:

• Texts and discussions on various topics
• Grammar and sentence structure exercises
• Conversation practice in different situations
• Reading and writing assignments

Teacher and Materials

Workload and Assessment

The course consists of 36 hours of group work and 45 hours of independent study. The assessment is based on regular attendance, active participation in class, and completion of homework assignments. The final grade is determined by the teacher at the end of the course.

Prerequisites

The recommended prerequisites for the course are Suomi 7 (LC-7270) or Suomi 5 (LC-7351).
