• Department of Architecture: We train professionals to design human-oriented environments.
• Department of Art and Media: The departments of art and media at Aalto University's School of Arts and Design have merged as of January 1, 2022.
• Department of Design: At the Department of Design, research, art, education and business cooperation form a strong competence in design research and education.
• Department of Cinematography (ELO): Department of Cinematography (ELO) is Finland's only university-level film school.

Support for challenging situations

• The doctoral students' support persons (ombudspersons) are experienced professors, whom the doctoral student can confidentially contact in challenging situations related to the dissertation work.
• The university also has other support for challenging situations, such as the services of study psychologists and work community mediation.
