Acting and directing (2nd cycle): the art of directing
Program Overview
Introduction to the Program
The "Jouer et mettre en scène" (Playing and Staging) program is a two-year master's degree offered by the Université PSL and the Conservatoire. This program is designed for comedians and actors who have obtained a DNSPC and a license, and aims to provide training in staging.
Program Description
The program has a dual ambition: to reactivate the historical vitality of staging as a strategy for actors, and to treat the current alliances of staging with human and social sciences, new technologies, cognitive sciences, and exact sciences. The program is affiliated with the Graduated Arts Program of the Université PSL.
First Year (M1)
The first year of the program is composed of practical and theoretical courses in dramaturgy, analysis of modern and contemporary aesthetic currents, direction of actors, writing, scenography, and regulation (light, sound, video, etc.). The program also includes a three- to four-week internship, which allows students to observe scenic practices, modes of gathering, and rituals in different social and cultural contexts.
Second Year (M2)
The second year of the program is structured around a large internship in a professional environment, the writing and defense of a research thesis, and the realization of a final project. The program also includes courses on production, thought as a strategy articulated with dramaturgy and the vision of shows, as well as technical workshops necessary for the accompaniment of projects.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for the program are €478, which is fixed by the Ministry of Culture. Additionally, students must pay the Contribution to Student Life and Campus (CVEC), which is €100.
