Thèse ESPCI/Laboratoire MIE/Univ shenzen

Presentation of the School

ESPCI Paris - PSL is an engineering school that forms innovative engineers capable of inventing the future and responding to the challenges of tomorrow.

Rattachement du poste

The position is attached to the CBI laboratory and the MIE team. The thesis will be directed by Annie Colin and will be conducted in collaboration with the University of Shenzhen in China.

Missions and Responsibilities

The objective of this thesis is to extend the results on non-reactive contacts to reactive contacts that harden over time, such as those present in cement. The thixotropy of cement, essential for its work and shaping, is closely related to these mechanisms.

Profile

We are looking for a physico-chemist with an experimental profile having experience in physico-chemistry of soft matter, hydrodynamics, optics, rheology of complex fluids, and microfluidics. The ability to work in a team and good communication skills are important, as the doctoral student will work in close contact with the entire team.

Formation Required

Master's degree in complex fluids or engineering school.

Poste à pourvoir

The position is available for a duration of three years, starting from 01/08/2025. Applications (CV, cover letter) should be sent by email.
