Introduction to the Franco-German Doctoral College
The Franco-German Doctoral College (C.D.F.A.) is a collaborative initiative between MINES ParisTech, the University of Kaiserslautern, and the Fraunhofer Institute (ITWM), facilitated by a framework agreement with the Franco-German University (U.F.A.). The U.F.A. is a binational institution equally funded by France and Germany, aiming to promote and finance Franco-German courses across various disciplines since 1997.
Mission and Objectives
The primary mission of the U.F.A. is to encourage training and research, with over 7,000 students enrolled across 186 higher education establishments, primarily in France and Germany. The C.D.F.A.'s objective is to provide structured doctoral training between France and Germany, emphasizing the mobility of doctoral students.
Research Areas and Specializations
The Franco-German doctoral college specializes in "Mathematical image processing," bringing together excellent research teams in applied mathematics and image processing from both French and German institutions. This collaboration enables the exchange of ideas for promising projects and joint publications, particularly during international congresses.
Program Details
- The program involves joint actions, including internships lasting between 3 and 6 months for 2nd and 3rd year doctoral students.
