The program "Lehrveranstaltungen diversitðtsbewusst gestalten" (Teaching Diversity-Aware Courses) is designed to sensitize participants to diversity and develop approaches for diversity-aware teaching.
Program Description
The program aims to provide participants with an understanding of the importance of diversity in higher education and equip them with the skills to create an inclusive learning environment. The program is based on a diversity concept that emphasizes anti-discrimination and focuses on differences that make a difference in society.

The objective of the program is to develop approaches for diversity-aware teaching and to provide participants with an overview of the fundamentals of diversity-aware didactics.

The program is designed for members of the University of Basel (including doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers) with at least a master's degree, who are involved in the university's teaching activities.

There are no prerequisites for participating in the program.
Program Structure
The program consists of the following components:
- Reflexive examination of various dimensions of diversity-aware didactics
- Development of approaches for designing diversity-aware courses and exams
- Knowledge of relevant institutions and regulations of the University of Basel
Workload
The program includes:
- Preparation assignment
- Virtual presence: 3 hours
- Performance record: 1 hour
Schedule
The program schedule is as follows:
- April 2, 2026: Access to the ADAM course environment
- April 2-16, 2026: Preparation assignment
- April 16, 2026 (1:15-4:15 pm): Virtual presence
- April 16-23, 2026: Self-study with performance record (1 hour)
- April 23, 2026: Submission of performance record
Certification
The program is recognized as part of the University of Basel's certificate program in higher education didactics.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fee for the program is CHF 40.00 for university members. There is a possibility of refunding the course costs, which can be clarified directly with the department.
Admission Criteria
Admission to the program is open to members of the University of Basel with at least a master's degree, who are involved in the university's teaching activities.
Language
The program is conducted in German.

The program takes place online via Zoom.
