The Bath Award Program

The Bath Award is a program open to all students currently studying at the University of Bath. This includes undergraduate and postgraduate students, those studying on campus or remotely, and full- or part-time students. The program is designed to enhance employability and student success.

Eligibility

All students currently studying at the university are eligible to register and take part in the award. This includes Gold Scholars, who may use the same volunteering hours for both the Gold Scholarship Programme and the Bath Award.

Program Requirements

To complete the Bath Award, students must:

• Log 50 hours of extra-curricular activities, which can include volunteering, paid employment, and student leadership.
• Complete one workshop, one online article or resource, and one online training for each of the four capabilities.
• Submit their completed activities by the deadline of 1 May 2026.

Logging Hours

Students can log hours from previous years as long as they were completed while they were a registered student at the University of Bath. Hours can be mixed and matched from volunteering, paid employment, and student leadership. Examples of eligible activities include:

• Hall Representative roles
• Sporting activities that involve student leadership, volunteering, or paid employment
• Time spent on the Rotork Community Challenge (for the pilot year)
• Contributing to a conference in a volunteer or paid capacity

Professional Development Elements

Students need to source their own online resources and training, ensuring they align with their personal development goals. LinkedIn Learning resources are available, and endorsed workshops are listed in My Employability Profile. Students can filter the list by capability to find relevant options.

Submission and Deadline

The deadline for the completion and submission of the Bath Award activities is 1 May 2026. Students who complete their submission by the deadline, with the correct number of hours logged and the appropriate pieces of professional development submitted, will receive the award. There are no limits on the number of people who can receive the award.
