Program Overview
University Program Information
The university offers three Pre-sessional English (PSE) courses, designed to support students in meeting the English language requirements for their degree programs.
Course Options
- 10-week in-person course, starting in July 2025 for courses commencing in September 2025. Dates for 2026 are to be confirmed.
- 5-week in-person course, starting in August 2025 for courses commencing in September 2025. Dates for 2026 are to be confirmed.
- 5-week online course, starting in November 2025 for courses commencing in January 2026.
Admission Requirements
To apply for a PSE course, students must hold an offer for their main degree program. The choice of PSE course depends on the English language requirement for the degree program and the student's current level of English.
English Language Requirements
- Students must provide a Secure English Language Test (SELT) certificate, dated within two years of the PSE course start date.
- The English language requirements for each degree program are specified in the offer letter and on individual degree program pages.
Recommended Courses
Based on the student's current IELTS score or equivalent, the following courses are recommended:
- If the student's IELTS score is no more than 1.0 of a band below the required score, the 10-week PSE (in-person course) is recommended, starting on July 7, 2025, with a cost of Ł5,300.
- If the student's IELTS score is no more than 0.5 of a band below the required score, the 5-week PSE (in-person course) is recommended, starting on August 7, 2025, with a cost of Ł2,900.
- If the student's IELTS score is no more than 0.5 of a band below the required score, the 5-week PSE (online course) is recommended, starting on November 3, 2025, with a cost of Ł2,900.
Application Deadlines
- The closing date for applications for the 10-week in-person course starting on July 7, 2025, is June 2, 2025. Dates for 2026 are to be confirmed.
- The closing date for applications for the 5-week in-person course starting on August 7, 2025, is July 3, 2025. Dates for 2026 are to be confirmed.
- The closing date for applications for the 5-week online course starting on November 3, 2025, is October 24, 2025.
