Introduction to the 2026 Chongqing University and KU Leuven 2+2(+1) Bachelor's Double Degree and Master's Program
The program is a collaborative effort between Chongqing University and KU Leuven, aiming to provide students with a comprehensive education in their chosen field. The program allows students to spend two years at Chongqing University and two years at KU Leuven, with the option to pursue a master's degree at KU Leuven.
School Introduction
KU Leuven, located in Leuven, Belgium, is a renowned university with a long history of academic excellence. It is a member of several prestigious university alliances, including the European Research University Alliance and the Coimbra Group. KU Leuven has consistently ranked among the top 50 universities globally and has been recognized as one of the most innovative universities in Europe.
Program Introduction
The 2+2(+1) program is designed for students who wish to pursue a double degree in their chosen field. Students will spend the first two years at Chongqing University, followed by two years at KU Leuven. Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded a bachelor's degree from both Chongqing University and KU Leuven. Outstanding students will have the opportunity to pursue a master's degree at KU Leuven without taking an entrance exam.

Admission Requirements
Basic Requirements
- Support the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and the socialist system with Chinese characteristics
- Be physically and mentally healthy, with a good moral character and a strong sense of responsibility
- Have a certain level of economic ability to support themselves during their studies abroad
Application Objects
- Full-time students in their second year of study in mechanical and electronic engineering, electronic engineering, biochemical engineering, and chemical engineering at Chongqing University
Academic Requirements
- Good academic performance, with a GPA of 3.0 or above
- No failed courses, with a strong overall academic record
- Language requirements: IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 in each band) or TOEFL 85 (with a minimum of 20 in each band)
Application Procedure
Campus Application and Selection Process
- Submit an online application and supporting materials
- Complete the college and university audit process
- Participate in an interview organized by KU Leuven (if selected)

- English language proficiency certificate (TOEFL or IELTS)
- Personal statement (350-500 words)
Scholarship Application
- Chongqing University scholarship: up to Ą40,000 per student (subject to evaluation and approval)
- College-level scholarships: available for students participating in the program (details to be confirmed with the college)
Other Matters
- Students are responsible for applying for their own passport and visa
- Students who are selected for the program must participate and complete their studies at KU Leuven, unless prevented by unforeseen circumstances. Failure to do so may result in a negative record and impact future applications for study abroad programs.
