Introduction to the Erasmus+ Program

The Erasmus+ program is a European Union initiative that provides opportunities for students to engage in academic mobility, including study periods and traineeships, across Europe. This program aims to enhance the skills and employability of participants, while fostering cooperation between higher education institutions.

Erasmus+ Traineeship

The Erasmus+ Traineeship program offers students the chance to gain practical experience in a European country, enhancing their career prospects and personal development. This program is open to students from various fields of study and provides a unique opportunity for cultural immersion and skill acquisition.

General Information/Requirements

  • General Information: The Erasmus+ Traineeship is a program designed for students who wish to undertake a traineeship in a European country.
  • Host Organization Search: Participants are responsible for finding a host organization for their traineeship, which can be a company, organization, or institution in a participating European country.
  • Funding and Calculation: The program provides financial support to participants, with the amount of funding depending on the destination country and the duration of the traineeship.
  • Students with Fewer Opportunities: The program also aims to support students with fewer opportunities, including those with disabilities, from disadvantaged backgrounds, or facing other challenges.

Application and Evaluation Process

  • Application Process: Students submit their applications through an online platform, providing necessary documents and information about their proposed traineeship.
  • Electronic Application: The application must include details about the host organization, the duration of the traineeship, and the learning objectives.
  • Evaluation and Selection: Applications are evaluated based on criteria such as the quality of the traineeship proposal, the relevance to the student's field of study, and the student's academic performance.

After Selection

  • Learning Agreement for Traineeships: Selected students must sign a Learning Agreement, which outlines the objectives, duration, and conditions of the traineeship.
  • Mobility Agreement and Funding: The university and the student sign a Mobility Agreement, which includes details about the financial support and the obligations of both parties.

During the Traineeship

  • Changes to the Learning Agreement: Any changes to the original Learning Agreement must be approved by all parties involved.
  • Traineeship Diary: Students are required to keep a diary or log of their activities during the traineeship, which serves as a record of their experiences and achievements.
  • Extension of Traineeship: In some cases, students may be able to extend their traineeship, subject to approval from their university and the host organization.
  • Before Departure from the Host Organization: Students must ensure that all necessary documents and evaluations are completed before leaving the host organization.

Upon Return

  • Submission of Documents: Students must submit all required documents, including the Traineeship Certificate and the EU Survey, upon their return.
  • Recognition of the Traineeship Period: The period of the traineeship is recognized as part of the student's academic program, and the credits earned may be transferred according to the Learning Agreement.

European Youth Card

  • Diploma Supplement: The Diploma Supplement provides additional information about the student's academic achievements and competencies.
  • European Credit Transfer System (ECTS): The ECTS facilitates the recognition of academic credits across European institutions.
  • European Policy Statement: Institutions participating in the Erasmus+ program must have a European Policy Statement, outlining their strategy for internationalization and academic mobility.
  • Erasmus Policy Statement: The Erasmus Policy Statement specifically addresses the institution's approach to the Erasmus+ program, including selection criteria, language support, and recognition of credits.
