Program Overview


Introduction to the Erasmus+ Program

The Erasmus+ program is a European Union initiative that aims to enhance education, training, and sport across Europe. The program provides opportunities for students, teachers, and staff to study, teach, or train abroad, promoting cultural exchange, language learning, and professional development.


Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Erasmus+ program, applicants must meet the following criteria:


  • Be a permanent member of the academic or administrative staff at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh)
  • Have a contract of dependent employment with AUTh that is valid during the mobility period
  • Not have participated in the Erasmus+ program for staff mobility in the last three calls

Mobility Period

The mobility period for the Erasmus+ program is from January 1, 2026, to July 26, 2026.


Application Procedure

To apply for the Erasmus+ program, candidates must submit the following documents electronically:


  • Electronic application form
  • Invitation letter or letter of acceptance from the host institution
  • Completed and signed mobility agreement
  • Detailed program of the training activities All documents must be submitted by December 11, 2025, at 14:00.

Selection Criteria

The selection of applicants will be based on the following criteria:


  • Priority will be given to those who have not participated in the Erasmus+ program for staff mobility in the last three calls
  • Priority will be given to plans that focus on innovative technologies, methods, and systems
  • Priority will be given to participation in blended intensive programs (BIP) organized by the host institutions in cooperation with AUTh
  • Priority will be given to ensuring equal opportunities for all departments

Grant Coverage

The Erasmus+ program provides a grant to cover travel expenses and a portion of personal expenses during the mobility period. The grant is intended to offset additional mobility costs and does not cover the entire cost of the training.


Important Notes

  • The electronic application will be deactivated after the deadline, and no documents will be accepted after this time.
  • The mobility can only be implemented if the applicant has received an electronic approval message from the Department of European Educational Programs.
  • The combination of physical and virtual mobility (blended mobility) is possible, with periods of interruption allowed.
