Practical support for the development of Greek studies - IASON Program
Program Overview
Program Overview
The IASON program is designed to provide practical support for the development of Greek studies. This support is translated into the creation of infrastructure and continuous support for various activities.
Support Activities
The program provides support through:
- Granting summer scholarships for students learning Greek and research-educational scholarships for teachers of Greek at universities.
- Supplying and sending a basic philological library (1000 volumes) and a basic historical library (250 volumes) to each department.
- Providing teaching work and research assistance to foreign universities by members of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) faculty.
- Guiding the preparation of undergraduate synthetic papers and postgraduate or doctoral dissertations.
Technical Infrastructure and Events
Technical infrastructure (of various kinds according to needs) and the organization of scientific-teaching conferences and workshops complement this intervention.
Academic Support
The Departments of the School of Philosophy provide the scientific teaching work needed by students and new teaching staff at these universities. They also make their libraries, study rooms, and archives available to create the appropriate personnel for schools and universities as required by the times.
Certification of Greek Language
For the certification of the Greek language, the exams organized by the Center for the Greek Language for the past five years, both within and outside the country's borders, are crucial.
