Master in Didactics of Physical Education and Sport

The Master in Didactics of Physical Education and Sport is a joint program offered by the University of Lausanne and the Haute Ecole Pédagogique du canton de Vaud. It combines the professional approaches of the HEP Vaud with the academic approaches of the UNIL.

This Master's program aims to acquire a set of qualifications, skills, and experiences that support the training of teachers in sports. The program is not a teaching diploma.

Professional Perspectives

The title meets the minimum conditions to become a teacher in didactics of physical education and sport in higher pedagogical schools and teacher training institutes, including in continuing education. It also provides access to doctoral studies in didactics of physical education and sport.

• Language of instruction: French, recommended level: C1. A good level of English (B2) is advised for reading scientific texts.
• Admission requirements: Meet the enrollment and registration conditions of the University of Lausanne and the HEP Vaud, and hold a Bachelor's degree in primary education from the HEP Vaud, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in "Sports Sciences" from the University of Lausanne, or a teaching diploma in physical education at the secondary level.
• Registration: The Master's program in didactics of physical education and sport can only be started in the autumn semester. Registration deadlines: before April 30. If a visa is required to study in Switzerland: February 28.
• Part-time: Possible under certain conditions. Consult the HEP Vaud.
• Start of classes: Mid-September.
