Summer Sessions - Venice International University
What is Venice International University (VIU)?
The VIU is a consortium of 20 renowned universities from around the world, with a shared campus in Venice where students and teachers from the member universities come together.
What is the VIU Summer Session?
- A Summer Session runs for 4 weeks, from 4 to 29 August 2025.
- 6 courses are offered during the summer 2025 session. Students may apply for one course, approval is granted on a case-by-case basis.
- The list of available courses can be found on the VIU website.
- Each course consists of 40 hours of instruction, including a virtual component that will take place prior to the start of the program, from 1 July to 3 August 2025.
Financial Support
Upon prior selection of candidates, UNIL offers coverage of round-trip train travel in 2nd class (Lausanne-Venice) and accommodation at the San Servolo residence. Reimbursement is made upon presentation of supporting documents and the certificate of participation after the program. Selected students will be informed by the International Relations Office (SRI) after the application deadline.
Application Process
Step 1:
- Be enrolled in the 1st or 2nd year Bachelor's program.
- Write to the HEC Mobility Office to have your course approved. Deadline: Thursday, May 8, 2025.
Step 2:
Once your course has been validated, register for the Summer Session and send the following documents:
- A copy of your student card.
- A motivation letter including the web links to the selected course(s) and other reasons explaining your interest in participating.
- A proof of approval from your Mobility Advisor.
