Program Overview


Introduction to the Doctoral Program

The doctoral program at the School of Criminal Justice (ècole des Sciences Criminelles ESC, University of Lausanne) is designed to bring together PhD students from the ESC as well as any PhD student from a university delivering a PhD in forensic science or criminology. The aim of the program is to allow PhD students to develop their network as well as generic cross-disciplinary skills for successfully conducting their PhD research and preparing them for their professional career.


Presentation

The program's objective is to develop the transversal skills of PhD students, including communication of research work, discussion among peers, project management, teamwork, and more. In some cases, specific skills are targeted, such as data processing, methodology, and scientific publication, through specialized doctoral seminars. These seminars allow PhD students to participate actively and generate content that will be exploited later. The program also includes a summer school organized once a year, where PhD students can present their work through lectures and poster sessions.
