Program Overview

Program Overview

The Master 2 Conception et Cycle de Vie des Materiaux (M2 C2VM) is a master's program in alternance, focusing on the eco-design of materials. The program is designed to train experts in material eco-design, enabling them to develop and characterize polymeric, inorganic, composite, and multi-materials, as well as evaluate their environmental impacts.

Program Description

The M2 C2VM program is a 12-month master's program, including 38 weeks of internship in a company and 14 weeks of training from October to September. The program is centered on the eco-design of materials and is carried out in alternance, based on professionalization or apprenticeship contracts. The rhythm of the alternance is three weeks of training followed by four weeks of internship, over five periods per year.

Domaines de Formation

The program covers the following domains:

  • Conception et Cycle de Vie des Matériaux: criteria for choosing materials, establishing the different stages of the material life cycle, and describing the design processes while integrating environmental issues and regulations.
  • Sciences des Matériaux: eco-responsible materials and processes, multifunctional materials, and materials for energy, ICT, and health.
  • Management d'Équipe et Communication: project management, team management, and communication techniques.
  • Anglais Professionnel: professional English.
  • Projet Tuteuré: a transversal project carried out in teams, integrating knowledge from the formation in the fields of material science, life cycle, and project management.
  • Mise en Situation Professionnelle dans l'Entreprise: 38 weeks of alternance in a company.

Competences Attestées

The program enables students to:

  • Identify and describe the principles of life cycle analysis and apply them in the field of materials.
  • Choose and apply material design and development processes, integrating environmental variables.
  • Deepen their knowledge of polymeric and inorganic materials, eco-responsible materials, and materials with specific properties.
  • Know project management and team management tools, establish a specification sheet for a project, and design and use relevant communication supports.

Poursuites d'Études

After completing the M2 C2VM, students can pursue another master's degree in a complementary field or continue with a Ph.D. in the field of materials.

Modalités d'Évaluation

The assessment methods for the master's program are mainly continuous integral control, including written exams, oral exams, projects, and reports.

Spécificités et Prérequis

To integrate the master's program, students must have a level M1 in the field of materials, polymers, metals, and ceramics.

Public Concerné

The Master 2 en Alternance "Conception et Cycle de Vie des Matériaux" is designed for students who have completed a M1 in Sciences and Technologies, with a mention in materials, chemistry, physics, or engineering, or those who have equivalent qualifications (access to Continuing Education and VAE).
