The Diplôme d'Etat en Santé in Pharmacie is a comprehensive program that encompasses the first and second cycles of pharmaceutical studies. The program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in scientific disciplines, as well as specialized knowledge in pharmacology, pharmacy, and therapeutics.
Program Structure
The program is divided into three cycles:
- The first cycle (PASS or L-AS, plus two years) focuses on the teaching of fundamental scientific disciplines, including chemistry, life sciences, physics, mathematics, and introduction to medication. This cycle is sanctioned by the award of the Diplôme de Formation Générale (DFG).
- The second cycle (two years) is dedicated to applied scientific teaching, focusing on the knowledge of medication and therapeutics, including pharmacology, clinical pharmacy, therapeutic chemistry, toxicology, microbiology, hematology, and clinical biochemistry. This cycle is sanctioned by the award of the Diplôme de Formation Approfondie (DFA).
- The third cycle is devoted to professional specialization.
