Introduction to the Portail Physique-Chimie-Sciences de l'Ingťnieur (PCSI) Program

The University Lyon 1 offers a multidisciplinary program, Portail Physique-Chimie-Sciences de l'Ingťnieur (PCSI), which is a first-year university program (L1) that welcomes students interested in chemistry, physics, and engineering sciences.

Program Description

The PCSI program is composed of teaching units (UE) spread over two semesters, allowing students to acquire a foundation of knowledge and skills necessary for further studies in one of the six licenses attached to the PCSI portal. The program includes:

• Disciplinary UE, which enable students to acquire a core of knowledge and skills
• Transversal UE, which combine several disciplines and are followed by all students

Modalitťs d'ťvaluation

The validation of the L1 PCSI program requires:

• The acquisition and validation of blocks of competences of transversal UE
• The obtaining of an average superior or equal to 10/20 on the whole of the disciplinary UE

Public Concerned

The teachings of the licenses of the PCSI portal are quantitative and multidisciplinary sciences that require knowledge and skills in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. The licenses of the PCSI portal have the objective of:

• Acquiring knowledge and skills in the chosen scientific field
• Learning the experimental approach
• Developing analysis and autonomy capacities in work
